A Big Yellow Success
Watling JCB hosted what can only be described as ‘A Big Yellow Success’ at our Big Yellow Experience open day on Saturday 15th September.
The event took place at Bruntingthorpe Aerodrome, an ideal location for customers to take a look at our machines, including the brand new 220X excavator.
Fun and games made this a family- friendly event with the machines demonstrating their capabilities in a variety of ways, including a number of operator challenges. Hook-a-duck proved to be a popular attraction with customers and their families using the 18Z mini excavator to transport as many ducks as possible from one pit to another in one minute or the JCB Hydradig ‘Pin Challenge’ where different sizes of pin were moved from one slot to another; demonstrating the smoothness of the Hydradig controls.
However, for visitors who wanted to see our machines in real action, there was the perfect opportunity in a perfectly sculpted demonstration arena located through a passageway of trees from the main display. Here, over 40 customers were able to get hands-on experience with a range of machines; testing out the versatility, maneuverability and productivity for themselves.
A staggering 392 customers in total attended the event; this coupled with their families brought the total count to 530 people on the day. Managing Director and owner Richard Telfer described the day as “a fantastic achievement by all involved.”
"It takes a lot of time and investment to put on an event like this and I was really pleased with how the day went. We had an overwhelming turnout of customers; many bringing their families. It was a fantastic way to engage with our contacts and I would like to thank them all for choosing to spend the time with us. It was also great to see staff and their families from across our Company who don’t often get the chance to come to this kind of event. We sold 3 display machines on the day and took a lot of enquiries. The feedback on our new ranges of machines like the 220X, 16C, Generator Range and Access Platform Range was fantastic and it was the first time a lot of our customers had seen these machines in the flesh. The operator challenges were particularly well received and our customers loved getting behind the controls and having a go! I would also like to thank the whole of the Watling JCB team who worked tirelessly to plan, set up and run the event on the day; a fantastic achievement by all involved."
The excellent organisation and leadership from Sales Director, Andy Raine and Compact Sales Manager, Daniel Lodge has to be acknowledged in what was a thoroughly successful day. We would also like to thank all those that came out for the day.
