Watling JCB sponsors local charity
Watling JCB have agreed to sponsor Whetstone based charity Young Leicestershire.
The charity, based just 0.8 miles away from Watlings Leicester depot, is the biggest provider of open-access clubs for young people in Leicester and Leicestershire with over 27,500 members now attending their network of affiliated groups.
Formed in 1951, Young Leicestershire has over 60 years’ experience in supporting children in the local area with special educational needs and disabilities. Through creating activities, days out and events, the children are able to access their local communities. The team at Young Leicestershire also works in partnership with several youth trusts such as SEND, Detached Youth and Regional lead on Centre for Youth Impact. Working collaboratively with such organisations helps to progress thinking and practice in impact measurement in youth work and provision for young people.
Watling JCB’s branding has been added to the charity’s minibus which is used to transport the young people to events and activities.
CEO Alison Jolley was delighted to have the support of Watling JCB;
“We are so thankful to Richard and the team at Watling JCB for the backing. It’s always encouraging when such a prestigious business in the local area supports the charity and helps to shine the spotlight on our work. We work tirelessly all year to provide a platform for these children to engage with the local community and this donation will go a long way towards enabling us to do that.”
The next significant event to be hosted by Young Leicestershire is a charity golf day on Thursday 3rd September at Lingdale Golf Club. For more information on that event and the fantastic work Young Leicestershire do, head to their website: https://youngleicestershire.org.uk/.
