Main Purpose of the Role:

This is an entry-level finance role designed for someone at the start of their accounting career who is actively studying towards, or planning to study towards, AAT qualifications.

The role provides hands-on experience across core finance functions while supporting the Accounts Team and Finance Director in the smooth running of the Finance Department. The successful candidate will develop practical accounting skills, gain exposure to business operations, and contribute to continuous improvement through a proactive and flexible approach.

Hours: 08:30 – 17:00pm Monday to Friday with one hour lunch

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provide professional support to engineers and customers via the back counter, telephone, and
online shop
• Accurately identify, process, and supply parts to internal and external customers
• Manage and fulfil online shop orders efficiently and accurately
• Support service and retail counters during busy periods
• Answer incoming calls promptly and return messages efficiently
• Pick, prepare, and issue parts for service jobs, ensuring readiness for engineers
• Process VOR and service exchange parts in line with company procedures
• Book in deliveries, maintain accurate stock records, and manage bin locations
• Ensure all paperwork and system entries are completed accurately and on time
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, health & safety, and security
• Operate a forklift safely and responsibly (training provided if required)
• Contribute positively to team performance and deliver excellent customer service

Abilities, Skill Set and Experience:

Essential:

This role is ideal for someone starting their accounting career who is eager to learn and develop within a supportive finance team.
• Currently studying towards AAT or committed to starting AAT studies
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Analytical and methodical approach to tasks
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
• Clear and professional communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
