As we continue to expand our Power Generation offering, we are looking for a high-calibre, technically capable and commercially driven individual to join our Sales Team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and grow a developing area of the business.
Main Purpose of the Role:
The main purpose of this role is to drive sales of new and used Power Generation equipment across the UK, providing technical expertise, identifying customer requirements, and delivering tailored solutions.
This role combines technical understanding, customer engagement, and proactive business development, with a strong focus on building long-term customer relationships and increasing market share.
Key Responsibilities:
Initial 3-Month Development Phase:
During the first three months, the focus will be on building technical knowledge, customer understanding, and operational exposure:
• Conducting site surveys to assess customer requirements and applications
Managing and responding to enquiries from:
• Smaller UK customers
• A pre-defined customer account list
• Overseeing the installation and handover of new machines
• Supporting and delivering used machine sales
• Gaining a strong understanding of JCB Power Generation products and applications
Ongoing Role Responsibilities (Post 3 Months)
Following the initial onboarding period, the role will transition into a more proactive sales and business development focus:
Sales & Business Development
• Actively prospecting and generating new business opportunities across the UK
• Conducting outbound sales calls and follow-up activity
• Developing and executing a UK new / used machine sales strategy
• Creating structured sales plans aligned to business objectives
Customer Management
• Building strong, long-term relationships with new and existing customers
• Carrying out customer visits to identify opportunities and provide technical solutions
• Understanding customer operations and recommending appropriate equipment
Technical Sales & Delivery
• Preparing customer quotations using internal systems (e.g. Sales Master)
• Ensuring solutions are tailored to customer needs, including:
• Machine specification
• Attachments / ancillary equipment
• Service and maintenance options
• Supporting installations, demonstrations, and handovers
Marketing & Growth Support
• Contributing to sales and marketing campaigns
• Providing input into product positioning and market opportunities
• Supporting digital and outbound campaign activity
Systems & Reporting
• Maintaining accurate records using CRM systems and Sales Master
• Providing regular sales forecasts and pipeline updates
• Completing all administration accurately and in a timely manner
Training & Development
• Attending JCB product training and ongoing development programmes
• Keeping up to date with market trends, competitor activity, and product advancements
Events & Representation
• Representing Watling JCB at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events
Key Objectives
• Grow Power Generation sales revenue across new and used equipment
• Establish a structured and scalable new / used machine sales channel
• Deliver high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business
• Build a strong and sustainable UK customer pipeline
